An hour at Romford Station. Class 345s, Class 720s and Class 745s feature in this video. The traffic at this station would have been very different just a few years ago.

How do you get onto that platform?
Most trains that day were running on the main line due to weekend engineering work if I can recall correctly
@Paul Williams When did class 321's serve at Ilford and when there was trains serving at platform 5?
The Class 315s were starting/terminating at Ilford from London Liverpool Street due to engineering work between Seven Kings and Romford, therefore the Class 321s on Southend Victoria services called at Ilford to pick up passengers wanting to further on, such as Romford.
@@The315fan good point but for platform 5 was it only used for class 315's terminating at Ilford
@@AlphaFan137 From what I can remember, platform 5 was generally used as a place to stable units during the off peak.
@@The315fan ok
9:37 Chadwell Heath does have very clear megaphones when announcing
Back in the days when class 315s ran to Southend, did they call at all of the stations of Greater London before heading out into Essex?
Thanks for your comment. I recall that the first two trains Mon-Sat to London Liverpool Street were Class 315 diagrams which started from Southend Victoria (the 04:00 and 04:30). From there, they both called ALL stations to Ilford, then ran fast to Stratford and London Liverpool Street. The calling pattern for the rest of the Class 315 diagrams to/from Southend Victoria (including the diagram featured in this video) were similar to the above.
The Class 360 that are now with East Midlands Railway are still as reliable.
That’s great to hear!
The Class 357 in green livery was seen all over the c2c network as the Class 357s were upgrades with regenerative braking that puts power back to the overhead wires when the train slows down.
I wish the 315/317's weren't replaced. The new 710/720 are just not as good imo.
Exactly very true I wish the 317/315 stayed but they had to go unfortunately all because of there age they both been around since 1982 I hated the 720s ever since they first started serving Greater angila i hate the look of them they just look really ugly and also trying to switch cars inside the train always so frustrating trying to get through small things in side
Sounds similar to the 319s except the motor is double the pitch
I needed to know why they don’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for the main line Train so that they can extend the unused abandoned underground stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock and that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into Five cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it bigger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Train tunnel into a High-Speed train? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Train line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. then put the modernised 11 car per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 37 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project that is OK for London Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street and also make another brand new tunnel train station in Chingford could they extend the DLR. All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Five carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and they can order Every 17 Octagon and Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique minor no.11 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 117MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 117MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!, oh can you make all of those Coal Boxes’s 16 Tonnes for all of the 117MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!! so please make sure that the Builders can do as they are Told!! And please do something about these very important Professional ideas Please Prime Minister of England, the Prime Minister of Sweden, the Prime Minister of Germany, the Prime Minister of Italy, the Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.
Did you cut off parts of the video? Because I remember first seeing this video there was a train arriving into the station before the train departed looking east
Yes I did cut a part of one of the clips out due to being slightly out of focus through accidentally zooming in too quickly. I had used an old digital camera to film that day. The zoom going out of focus just spoils the videos in my opinion. I hope you still enjoyed watching it anyway.
Thank you for the documentation over the years

It’s still my stomping ground presently. Due to this, I’ve plenty of other videos of Gidea Park which you are more than welcome to browse through 🙂

Thank you 😊
Great historical capture, its been a while since a 315 has been there! We are aiming to preserve one of the remaining ones
this is history for train fans
Nice one.. those were the days before TFL. The trains were the Greater Anglia Services
what I would do to see Cheshunt like this again 😭😭
Did it run to Southend or Witham.
Hi. I remember filming this clip on a Sunday in 2010. The 315 had come from Shenfield going to Liverpool St. Before TFL took over in 2015, there were a few workings to/from Southend Victoria but not on Sundays.

when people dislike this, me: -_- Great video mate!
Thanks. A scene soon to become history as you must know already
Was it the GE livery because back in the first half of 2012, some were remaining before relivered
This journey took place a decade ago therefore I can no longer remember 😅 It’s highly possible though
I've just subscribe to your channle mate 😊👍💜💜
Are there any great eastern liveried trains existing that time
TFL RAIL entered service 2 months later, serving stations between shenfield and liverpool street
Yes that’s right! You have a good memory
That's unusual to see a semi fast service not stop at Chadwell heath. It's usually Mayland, forest gate and Manor Park
Mostly before tfl, they only skip seven kings and Goodmayes
That was normal during peak hours pre Elizabeth Line. The calling pattern of the peak services which started from Gidea Park was Romford, Ilford, then all stations to Liverpool St. The peak services from Shenfield called all stations to Ilford, then fast to Stratford and Liverpool St
From May it was Crossrail to start on TFL Rail the date is end of may
Why the class 317 on the great eastern main line to a Gidea Park on Greater Angila
Think it's going to the sidings
Was it going to the sidings
No no, it was forming a service to Shenfield.
Oh right. I thought it was going to the sidings because it was slowly leaving the station. And it wasn't rush hour.
@@Great_WesternTVFan I recall that when I filmed this in 2010, it was a Summer Saturday early evening. No, wasn't rush hour. Back then, the Class 315s ran as 4 cars during the off-peak. NXEA was the TOC at this time.
What does TOC stand for?
